Top 5 ECHL Players Of The First Half

The first half of the 2014-15 ECHL season has been a great one. Some great new players have entered the league and shown their skills. In this top 5 we take a look at the best players of the first half of the season.

5. Adam Pleskach, F, Tulsa Oilers

Pleskach has been one of the few bright spots for Tulsa. Tied for second in the league in goals with 24, Pleskach has shown an ability to put the puck in the net and on net leading the league in shots on goal with 196. He is also fifth in the league in point with 45.

4. Riley Gill, G, Allen Americans

Gill is the first American on this list but wont be the last and rightfully so, they have the best record in the league. Gill is tied for first in wins with 21, tied for second in save percentage with .920, and fourth in GAA with 2.37. The play in front of him has been stellar but Gill’s play should not be overlooked.

3. Collin Bowman, D, Colorado Eagles

The Eagles have surged up the standings and a lot of that has to do with the play of Bowman. He is near the top of the league in plus/ minus and leads the league in points by a defenseman with 31. Bowman offensive touch will be huge for Colorado down the stretch.

2. Jason Bast, F, Idaho Steelheads

Bast’s rookie season has been an awesome one. He is tied for second in the league in goals with 27 and has been one of the main reasons Idaho has been so good. Bast’s seven game winning goals lead the league as well.

1. Chad Costello, F, Allen Americans

The ECHL’s highest point producer gets the top spot on the mid-season rankings. Costello has 21 goals and 47 assists through 40 games and is 22 points in front of any other player. Even the loss of linemate  Jack Combs couldn’t slow him down. Look for the scoring to continue.
