Tyler Seguin Replaced By Ryan O’Reilly For Team Canada

Team Canada has replaced Tyler Seguin with Ryan O’Reilly for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Seguin is reported to be out with an ankle injury and withdrawn from the tournament where he had been skating on the fourth line.

O’Reilly, 25, signed with the Buffalo Sabres in July 2015 where he inked a seven-year contract extension after being traded from the Colorado Avalanche. The forward won the Lady Byng Trophy in 2014 after accumulating just two penalty minutes that entire season.
The Sabres confirmed the announcement on Twitter.

An exhibition game will take place tonight for Team Canada as they battle Team Russia at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. with coverage on ESPN2, SN, and TVA Sports.
