Otters Timpano Throws Stick At Camera After Spitfires Claim Memorial Cup

The Windsor Spitfires are Mastercard Memorial Cup champions for the third time in franchise history after defeating the Erie Otters 4-3 at the WFCU Centre.

The game winner came from veteran Aaron Luchuk at 5:07 into the third period in front of a capacity crowd of 6,519. Windsor is the tenth team to claim the Memorial Cup since 1983.

Dylan Strome, Otters captain, was given the the Stafford Smythe Memorial Trophy as Mastercard Memorial Cup MVP. Strome tallied seven goals in the tournament and tied his teammate Taylor Raddysh for tournament point leader with 11 points.

Erie Otters goalie Troy Timpano was far from happy about his organizations loss, throwing his stick at the panning camera below.

The Spitfires are the third straight champions from the Ontario hockey League and the Memorial Cup’s 99th champion.
